I’m Chris Nelson, owner of Chris Nelson Homes. I help buyers, sellers, and investors make confident real estate decisions throughout Ventura County. My goal is simple: to make your real estate experience as smooth, successful, and stress-free as possible.

Deep Roots in Ventura County

Ventura County has been my home since my family moved here from the East Coast in 1968. I grew up in Ventura, graduated from Buena High School, and studied business at Ventura College.

Because I have spent most of my life here, I understand what makes each Ventura County community unique. I know the neighborhoods, the housing styles, the local market conditions, and the qualities buyers look for when choosing where to live.

A Lifetime of Service, Sales, and Marketing Experience

Before beginning my real estate career, I served for two years in the United States Army in Germany as a tracked-vehicle mechanic. My military service taught me the importance of discipline, preparation, responsibility, and teamwork—qualities that continue to shape the way I serve my real estate clients today.

I later built a career in sales, marketing, and management. I worked with Wells Fargo and held leadership positions with Bally’s and Ventura County Athletic Clubs. My responsibilities included sales management, marketing campaigns, hiring, staff training, customer service, and day-to-day operations.

These experiences gave me a strong foundation in communication, negotiation, organization, and marketing. They also taught me that successful business relationships begin by listening to people and understanding what they truly need.

Real Estate Experience You Can Rely On

I began my real estate career with Troop Real Estate, where I trained and worked for nearly eight years. During that time, I received several sales awards and was named Agent of the Year for the Camarillo office.

I later worked in real estate management with Venco Realtors, where I helped homeowners facing difficult financial situations. This included working with distressed properties and negotiating short sales during a challenging period in the housing market.

Throughout my career, I have helped close close to 100 real estate transactions. My experience includes working with:

Before launching Chris Nelson Homes, I worked as a professional property photographer and online real estate marketing agent. In that role, I helped photograph and market more than 400 homes.

That experience gave me a clear understanding of how buyers search for homes and what causes a property to capture their attention. Professional presentation, strong photography, accurate information, and online visibility can make a meaningful difference in how buyers respond to a listing.

When I represent a seller, I use my real estate and marketing experience to present the home clearly, attract qualified buyers, and help the property compete in the local market.
